First! Happy anniversary to you both. Many more. You two are an absolute inspiration. Plus, your blog feeds into my irrational love of your beautiful country.

First, conrats to you and MTL and second, well done with 5 years of PI. I most go back and find how I discovered this delightful place.

Cheers.

Congratulations and best wishes for many more years together and many more blogging with us! I had to go back and read the post because it is just so romantic, lovely, inspiring and just so you! Thanks again, Pat, for sharing your life. xoxoxox

Happy Anniversary, Pat. I'd read this before, but it is such a wonderful story that it bears reading again!

I remember when you used to leave comments on Universal Soldier's blog, and you were so funny and sweet and observant. Then someone [I think, I don't remember this part too well], suggested that you should blog. I'm glad you've done that.

I'd read that meeting when you posted it, and I just had to read it all over again just now.

Happy bloggiversary, happy lovey-versary [ha, I made up that one].

UB: thank you and I like your blog very much so it's a fair exchange:)

Queenie: thank you.xoxox

Randall: it's strange remembering - or trying to - how one got to know old blogging friends in the first instance. I too must go back and look.

Savannah: thank you. I'm just so thrilled that the link worked. Not my strong point. Now I need to learn how to pin point the actual day rather than just the month.

Pat said...

Scarlet: I'm glad I persevered with the link then and thank you for taking the trouble to read it.

Judy; you must know all my secrets by now:)

GG: that takes me back. I wonder where US is now? I think it was mainly Zinnia Cyclamen and my elder son who got me blogging, and I've never regretted it. It would be interesting to know what got people started.

I could never tire of reading that story, so I read it again (well done on the link), and I have tears in my eyes too. It was so brave of you to leave behind everything you'd worked for all those years, but you trusted your instincts and they were right.

Happy special anniversary, I hope you have a special day planned. And happy blogoversary too, I'm so glad someone convinced you to give blogging a go.

Next time I'm in London I will have a drink in the Charing Cross hotel.

Pat said...

Eryl: the nurse comes today to take blood and MTL also had to go to the clinic for another blood taking so we had dinner out last night.
I don't know if it is still there but the actual place in the Charing Cross Hotel was Eleanor's Bar. Cheers:)

I have tears in my eyes such a quiet lovely telling of such a personal moment in time.

Pat you were so brave, making a choice no matter what the road is always so hard.

I am always so happy that I found your blog and when I see you pop-up on my blog-reader, I know I am going to have an interesting read.
Great job on the link... I am always amazed when I try one and it works !

Happy Anniversary.
cheers, parsnip

Congratulations, Pat. And, as I've mentioned before, you left the first ever comment on my blog, so you're rather special to me for that, too. My fifth blogging anniversary coming up this month, too.

LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY YOU! I hope my jealousy isn't showing too much!
Congratulations on your special day!

Congratulations on your 5th anniversary. I am glad I found your blog. I believe Jamie Dawn directed me to you.

Pat said...

Parsnip; thank you. It's meeting people like you that make blogging so rewarding.

Mapstew: ooh I'm all of a quiver;)

Z: doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Congrats also.

Macy : I felt like that for years. Never say never.

Kim; actually I only just remembered the blogversary. Is there a way I could have made the link to the day rather than just to the month?

Kevin: hug back;)

Granny Annie: I'm glad you found me too but I don't think I know Jamie Dawn. Perhaps Judy/Kenju?

Many congratulations on your anniversary and your blog. As I didn't start reading your posts at the beginning I remember how much I enjoyed 'catching up' on the story. The advantage was that I could read several instalments at once.

Pat said...

Sandy: It's so nice to find someone has actually done that.
I have a problem today - I can access everywhere except my in-box so I can't read my mail:(

I went back and read that to get a warm glow! I love the idea of the mink coat - could do with one now!

Then I found I had posted a comment, having been thrown back 30 years myself by your memories ...

I can't recall how I found you either but do know I was enrapt by the 'story continued' strapline and always looked out for it!

Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy some more!

Pat said...

Rosneath: How lovely to hear that. I still potter down to Minehead in the mink when it's really cold - and it is so light. I must go back and read your comment again.
Yes, when I got to the end of the story I thought that's it now - everybody will beggar off- and I think some did, but the friends stayed , thank goodness.

rashbre said...

Happy Anniversary to you both and also to the blog! Like R.Sherman, I'm not sure how our blogs first crossed...

Wishing you the very best.

Happy anniversaries!

Pat said...

Rashbre : reminds me of that saying -'ships that pass in the night'.
Thank you:)

Wontlet: thank you Marjolein. If I remember correctly you go back a way.

Kim Ayres said...

Yes - if you open the actual post (perhaps in a separate window) and copy the address from the address bar. Then paste it into your link. If that doesn't make enough sense, email me and I'll write out you step by step instructions :)

Pat said...

Kim: thank you - that does make sense. I'll practice it tomorrow.

Mage said...

Wishing you a simply glorious anniversary. I'm so very glad you two got together again. Marvelous. Congratulations.

RYN: Yes, I know AGA's...they are the best. And we have one corner room, the computer room, that's double glazed. Hugs.......

Happy Anniversary!

What a great, romantic story that is, and yes -- how fast the years go by. Isn't it sad that when you're young, that sounds like such a cliche you don't even pay attention to it? In no time at all, you're reeling from the shock and wondering where all the time went. It's lovely that you hoped for ten years together, but are still going strong after thirty.

Pat said...

Maggie: ah you are bilingual:) thank you for your good wishes and I'm glad I found your blog.xox

Mary: I swear nowadays, every other day is Friday. At least one learns to relish the moment.
