We never like the way we look in photos, I always wince when I see mine. Especially ones I add to my blog. I always wonder why I did it.

All: you are very kind. As most of my avatars are out of date I think it is important to post an up-to-date one occasionally so that people don't get a shock if we ever meet.
Grief is no beauty aid but I'm still standing and my feet are kept firmly on the ground by remarks like:

Well, I am under the impression that you are in your 80's. I don't mind telling you that I'd consider myself very fortunate to look as good as you do when I get there and that you wear your age probably better than anyone I can think of.
Well, this is not the photo to prove why you prefer to be behind to camera. You could be in ads again, you're so fine and delicate and lovely.
I wish I could look as good as this when I'm sad.
I find no reason to disagree with my taller pal, not that I would on this occasion anyway. A timeless beauty is what you are missus. :-)
