Everything comes to he who waits.

My grandson has always wanted to live in the city.
This is the night view from his new flat.
Can you spot any land marks?

Battersea Power Station...! and I think Lloyd's of London might be a hazy blue line to the right.

Maybe not... I think the blue squiggle is too tall for Lloyd's.

Is that Battersea power station on the left?

Rog and Scarlet: the only thing I recognised was BPS from the days when my husband was a scientist with BISRA.
I believe the tall building is an exciting new building:)

I'm not familiar with the London skyline. And my life is all the poorer for it!

I must ditto the comment of The Unbearable Banishment.

The Shard and Big Ben tower?

I bet he is excited. :)

UB and Granny Annie: it's never too late:)

John: I definitely heard the Shard mentioned. Maybe Tom will tell:)

Mage: outwardly he is quite cool but his Dad and I think otherwise - especially when he discovered the local market.

I honestly don't recognize anything--but is that the BIG Ferris Wheel thingy way over to the far left?

How wonderful for him! A dream come true!

What an exciting adventure. I always think city living would be wonderful and then I walk outside where I live at night and see a million stars
but still.....

cheers, parsnip

Naomi: I'll have to ask Tom:)

Parsnip: your night view must be heavenly.
I used to think I didn't like cities until I discovered Paris.

London, Paris? I don't think the city is any of the above. Is that the Gaymer's cider factory on the far left?

The Battersea Power Station is fairly clear. We can just about see the London Skyline from our house too, if we go up on the 3rd floor! That's close enough for me!

Gadjo: I'm awaiting a reply but tis le weekend:)
The city is London.

Joey: I often wondered which county you live. I'm guessing Surrey where I lived in the fifties.

Paris?

Did I cheat? :-D

A city I'd like to have an apartment in is Sydney. The apartment would be surrounded by trees, it would be a leafy suburb, and it would...or maybe, it would be in Spain. How I love the idea of travelling and living in different countries.

GG: the night view is London.
Sydney is a lovely city.

All: The big one in the middle is The Shard, the tower with Big Ben in, which I think is now called Queen Elizabeth II Tower. You can't really see it but the Millennium Eye is in there somewhere too.
