A little light relief

Our funny bird.

We can't 'gather lilacs' - too high.

Out blooming glorious tree

Not quite hacked to death.

Offending trellis

Gaudy but gorgeous.

What's gaudy!? Says who?! Ah. You're so demure. Nice pic of him.

Your garden is looking great.

I'm still thinking albino blackbird, although around our way blackbirds prefer to feed on the ground.

I love orange and poppies, and that name is perfect!!

I also love the "not quite hacked to death" vines.

Those pics are cheering up a very wet grey day here Pat!

Your garden is stunning, Pat! Is "gaudy but gorgeous" a poppy? It's beautiful.

Just lovely. You leave me smiling. :)

Lovely pics, Pat. I'm convinced that is a Blackbird.

I'm with Rashbre regarding that bird. I'm fairly certain that it's an albino blackbird. Does he sing? Then you'd know. He's a very handsome bird anyway.

Aha, it looks like you've got the same Weigelia as us (8th photo)! It's a lovely thing: carmine pink flowers and dark green bronzy leaves, and very reliable.

Joey: yes:)

Naomi: at one time I opted for delicate shades and tried to move the poppy. It settled happily in its new bed but steadfastly remained in its old bed - and now I'm grateful.
Marjolein: thank you. It took ages to post with dialogue.

Rashbre: that's strange - all the blackbirds use the feeder - there is room for them to stand.

UB: you spotted him:)
Gaudy is also a celebration MTL used to attend at Oxford. Very Jane. I'm afraid I christened the poppy - but quite demurely.

Judy: thanks:)

Rog: then my work here is done:)

Pnita: glad you like it:)

Mage: that makes me happy:)

Granny Annie: are they saying -
'For pity's sake get rid of the ground elder - it's choking me'?

Parsnip: thank goodness it evolves and is never quite the same.

Chef: praise indeed:)

Mike and Ann: I'm just getting to know him so can't be sure. He is quite fearless and territorial and determined I shan't get a close up.

Gadjo: I liked it so much I bought three plants on separate occasions - forgetting I already had it. It's good value I agree.

I love how you always manage to capture such vibrancy with both your lens and your pen.
