Losses and Gains

I lost my brand new hold-all and combed the house for days.  I even phoned shops I remembered visiting in the last few days.  Then I decided as it was so inexpensive I would try to get another of the same shade.  I was passing the shop on Monday when visiting the doctor.  Luck was on my side; the shop was closed on Mondays (I later found the bag) and I got reassuring comments from the doctor.

More good news – the arbour is recovering and slowly getting back to its former glory.  Look at the photographs and see if you can see where that pesky bag was hiding.  I must have been in that room a dozen times.  Only when I was not looking did I see it.  There must be a moral in there somewhere.

Photos below.

Been there done that many times.
I am always putting something in a safe place where I wouldn't lose or forget it, which I promptly do.

So now you have two bags that look alike ? if so it doesn't matter they are so kawaii !

cheers, parsnip

I find that lost things are always in the last place I look.

Parsnip: no because the shop was closed I didn't buy a second one.

Rshbre: I don't mind too much - just as long as I find whatever I've lost.

What's that expression? HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT....lol....! Isn't that always the way.

The garden looks glorious, Pat....Recovered, Indeed!

Is it wise in this day and age to walk around the shops with an open bag? An open opportunity for thieves; literally. In the fifties you could trust people more than now.

We even have thieves operating in the coffee bar at the church! Several people have had things taken from their bags.

I had my webcam taken while in there. John G will confirm this. I borrow his now when I want to video something.

This is turning into a common occurrence at my house.

Glad you got a good report from the doctor.

I had to Google "hold all," he sheepishly admits. I see the "bag" reveal in the second paragraph, but what kind, specifically? Ah. A gym bag. Very good. Well done on your medical report.

Naomi: thank you. I've just spent the morning gardening and am feeling virtuous and spent:)

Keith: You are absolutely right and it is a problem. I got it for a specific occasion and plan to keep it firmly tucked under my shoulder with a small light weight hand bag inside. Cosidering body belts too. You could always come as my minder:)
Awful about your webcam.

Granny Annie: yes it was cheering:)

John: if you look carefully at the first photograph you will see the bag is almost invisible because the colour is the same as the wardrobe bag it is hanging on.

UB: strictly speaking I suppose it is a beach bag. The Gym and I are not on speaking terms.

According to some interpretations of the structure of the universe, there are an infinite amount of parallel universes which exist along side our own, with minute differences - where one atom bounced in one direction rather than another - through to massive differences (where the earth and sun don't exist, for example).

Some years ago, I became convinced we must continually be moving in and out of the ones that are very close to our own. So when I look on the table and the keys I know were there, are nowhere to be seen, then I've stepped into a parallel universe which is identical to my own, except the keys are somewhere else.

After searching the house from top to bottom and then discovering the keys were back on the table where I had looked 20 times already, what has happened is I've slid back into the original universe I started in.

This explanation is slightly more comfortable than the alternative one that senility is reaching me early...

Kim: that makes sense to me. But I am a bit gaga too:)

The garden is looking wonderful.

Glad all ended well, and you got reassuring comments from the doctor.

Eryl: thank you -
we live to fight another day:)

For Kim - Which planet do you live on then?

I used to do this sort of thing all the time. So sorry about the frustration, so glad you found it again. :)

If I had $1 for every time I've done that - I could buy a lot more of those....lol

Of course, I'd go into the room to look for it and then forget what I was in there for!

Mage: did you grow out of it? there's hope for me yet:)

Map: 51 - no-one would believe it.

Judy: it goes with the territory alas:)

At least you didn't leave it on the floor, never leave your bag on the floor, a Jamaican friend told me, you'll lose money.

I even go to the market at home with an open [sort of] handbag, there's a button and a loop at the top to close it [sort of].

Pat said...

GG: the one thing one can't do with this is put it on the floor. There's no bottom to it.
Oh for a button and a loop!

I'm sure I left a comment here too which means I'm either going insane, or blogger is.

I lose and forget everything. Glad you eventually found your bag, I'm still looking for my brain.
