The words have disappeared. I don't think I ever sent Dad a Father's Day card. Just to say I think of him almost every day with love, affection and gratitude that he gave me a love of the country-side, a sense of fun and the conviction that one can always be a better person.
God bless Dad.

Oh, how touching Pat! Such great pictures of your dear dear Father....! How lovely that you shared these wonderful photo's with us, on this special day.

And I wish your dear sweet MTL a Very Happy Fathers Day, too!

Nice photos of your dad. Here in the US Father’s Day was always close to our anniversary – for example today 17th is our 45th anniversary and Father’s Day – so we have a double celebration. Don’t you wish that you had taken more pictures in those days so you could have more now? You dad was special and I enjoyed looking at your pictures.

Lovely photos. I miss my dad, who passed away in 1993 very much.

The first photo of your Father holding the Corgi ? is one of my favorites. I was wondering if you would post that one again.
Lovely post today.

cheers, parsnip

Naomi: thank you and also from MTL.

Randall: I imagine his wartime experiences shortened his life, alas. I know he is always in your heart.

Parsnip: we had a lovely corgi - Havoc and then Mum and Dad got Sharon who was - I'm afraid - not lovely.

Vagabonde: what I really regret iS not making a video of him. He was so funny. At least I did with my Mother and my younger son did one with me.

That third photo, the one of the family, is the best. As I was looking at it, I realized that because of advances in photography and film, my daughters won't have any photos of me that have this beautiful, black and white, old world feel to them. Everything will be technicolor sharp, and I think it's a shame. Am I making any sense here?

UB: I think I know what you mean. They certainly have a rarity feel to them - even to me.

John : sorry I may have erroneously deleted your comment in the spam box. But it was much appreciated.

UB's right, those old world photos have character. Maybe years from now, these new, sharp photos will have an old look?
