Runaway Post

How dare they? The photos below published themselves before I had written anything.
The first is walking back to Instow after lunch - I got MTL to drop me. The town is Appledore.

I was intrigued by this flag visible from the bathroom. It looked like a rising sun so I thought it may be Japanese but a closer view revealed the black centre resembled a Watusi warrior.

Beloved sandhills. We parked here for the two restaurants at the top end of the town. Just too far for MTL to walk.

Inside the cottage with a large TV and you can just see the telescope.

This house, on the top road is so different from the others - a Miss Faversham of a house.

Haha, I think Blogger's one step ahead of you, Pat. Did you click on the new 'thingie' that Blogger has added to make posting easier?

You said I would like Instow. I do, I do and I haven't even gone there yet.

Absolutely love the plasma TV next to the old wood stove. Talk about a dichotomy:)

I am intrigued by the Miss Faversham house... I wonder what tales it has to tell?

The first photo is perfect.... I would love o be sitting there right now.
High winds, fire, smoke and 103+ today with no humidity.
Pat,
I keep meaning to say how much I love your new sidebar photo...I must ask you how come you keep getting more younger and more beautiful in your photos ?
Must be the wonderful English weather.

Glad you had a great holiday Pat. Always heartening to see blue skies somewhere over the British Isles.... :)

GG: I don't think so. I probably clicked on return to do with spacing. I must click more carefully.

Granny Annie: there was also a dichotomy between the outside and the inside of the cottage. Quite surprising.

Scarlet: those ancient shutters could tell a tale or two.

Parsnip: you are not supposed to do irony:) The photo is an oldie taken just as MTL and I were re-united in '79. Next time I shall probably use an even older one and avoid mirrors.

Macy: I nearly missed you. I must pop over and see how you are.

I googled Miss Faversham and came up with 'the thing in Miss Faversham's attic'...eek.

GG: I meant the Dicken's character - who is quite scary but google calls her Haversham rather than Faversham. Have I misremembered?
