Time to cast that Clout...

because the may is out - yesterday on Exmoor.

It is more a white than a yellow (the tree).

I can never quite get the teddy bear face of Exmoor Horns full face. This gives a glimmer - they are my faavourite sheep
.
Alice has taken time off from English and American studies to spend a few days with Grandpa and Grandma. Serious stuff choosing lunch. Why do I think of Rapunzel?

In the grounds of the Crown at Exford is this pretty garden.

There's a stream and a bridge. The cuisine is restaurant food rather than pub grub. Very enjoyable but Alice and I felt we should have been strong minded and passed on the dessert.

It is fun to know someone who lives in places I have only seen in movies or read about in stories. Your pictures are treasures for me.

Wonderful pictures, it looks so rugged and shaggy on Exmoor, just my kind of place.

Though the may is out here, too, my clout is currently a long sleeved shirt under a sweater and topped with a very thick knit cardi, plus jeans, socks (cashmere of course) and sheepskin slippers. That's just to sit in the house, it's so cold here.

As always wonderful photos.
The sheep are quite lovely, I will google them right now. You have such charming and cuddly animals running around unlike lots of the ones around my home !

cheers, parsnip

Does she look like Grandma?

Yes, she does.

Scarlet: thanks - the sheep are thrilled:)

Granny Annie: that's lovely to hear.

Judy: thank you - I'll pass the kind words on.

Savannah: be sure to let me know.xoxox

Eryl: it has been described as a miniature Scotland but some folk roar with derisive laughter at the thought. It can sometimes look a bit bleak but it doesn't do rugged very well - bit too velvety.
Hope you warm up soon.

John.G: I've told Alice she comes a close second to the sheep.

Parsnip; the Exmoor Horns are certainly cuddly but I can't get close enough to try:)

UB: thank you. I wish;)

Here, when we want to say someone's living a glorious life, we say it's 'Life in London'. But that should be changed. Pat's life is what it should be called :-)

Yet another good-looking grand-child. Aren't you lucky she's there with you!

Pat said...

GG: we are lucky. It's not an easy journey - two trains and we meet her in Taunton. She starts exams next week and her boy friend couldn't come as he is having exams now.
Pat's life ain't always peaches and cream - but you guessed that;)

I didn't say that!!

Pat said...

John.G: not to worry - she just laughed.

I can't speak for your granddaughter, but as far as you and YTL are concerned, the more the desserts, the better in my book.

Cheers.

Randall: I'm with you in principle but this wasn't a specially good one.

Pat - Has no one commented on your new upgraded picture yet..? Radical change! But that's what Spring does for you I suppose..

Pat said...

Macy: no! Most of them are quite on the ball/blase, and know full well this was taken some time ago. Just before MTL and I were re-united.
Haven't been on horseback since.

Pat, your new avatar is lovely! As are all the countryside photos and your granddaughter. Even the sheep are cute, although they can only get by on looks, as I know they aren't too bright. ;-)

Looks like fun! Your Granddaughter is beautiful - so wonderful that she's spending time with you guys! x

Pat said...

Ponita: I'm glad you like the photos.
Digital makes it so easy.

Kath: yes - we're missing her already.

Thank you for coming to my blog and posting a comment about my post on Naomi. I would have come to your blog sooner but I was away on a trip. I have been looking at your blog and you do show some beautiful pictures of the area where you live – it is lovely. Grandchildren are fun – I have two grandsons, one is 4 and the other 2 and we are expecting a third one in July. Thanks again for visiting my blog.

Vagabonde: glad you popped over and that you liked the photos.
How lovely to have a new baby to look forward to.

Very pretty granddaughter: I bet you're very proud of her.
My granny always interpreted that saying with the month so I was not allowed to dispense with Winter underwear until the end of May whatever the weather. Considering the Summer temperatures we've had this year I'm glad I haven't worn a vest (let alone a liberty bodice!) for ages - even in Winter.

Sandy: you bet right - she's not just a pretty face and is lovely to have around so like most grandma's I'm proud of her.
