This week's Garden

The pots have just had pansies in, so I spent today re- potting with geraniums, lobelia, verbena, pinks and heliotrope. No photos till they take hold.

This is the originla wegelia in the wooded part so slow to start.

Yellow rose outside the sun-room. There's a yellow rose outside the cottage we go to in June

The first poppy. This was dug up and moved but I'm happy it survived.

The new potato plant the girlsgave me to replace the one that died.

But it didn't die. Never say never - stronger than ever and a subtly different shade. They look great together and soon my New Dawn rose will be out . That did die and the girls replaced it for my 80th.

All the trees are out.

An ancient rose.

Any grandchild will tell you that this is where the tigers lurk.

You have a lovely garden, Pat! Things are just starting to green up here. The grass is mostly green, there are tiny new leaves starting on some of the trees, and the tulips are up.

Ponita: thank you. It must be a relief after all the varied weather you have had in such a long winter.

Beautiful flowers. Your climbing red rose is like mine in color.

A lovely walk around your garden - thank you!

Judy: it's very old and a bit tired:)
Now who does that make me think of?

Sharon: you're very welcome:)

Your garden doesn't look old and tired in the least. It's refreshing and the fragrance is simply glorious, yes, I've discovered a way to smell things via the Internet, can't patent it as yet :-D

Are your roses scented? We inherited a sparse rose bush with the garden, but even at dusk it only has the faintest of aromas. I would love a strongly scented rose bush for the garden, but as I rarely have anything to do with the garden, I never remember at an appropriate time to do something about it

What a lovely garden you have
Just beautiful.
Of course there are lions and tigers Oh My !

cheers, parsnip

GG: you must patent it and you'll clean up;)

Kim; some are, some aren't. the best scents just now are the night scented stocks and the heliotrope.
Google Kim for expert advice.

Parsnip: not everybody can see them but I knew you would;)

What a beautiful and colourful garden, Pat. I'm going to have to do something with mine as the previous owner wasn't very ambitious - but I think I'll leave that up to someone else;)

John.G: that's praise. I know what a lovely one you have.

Zoe: thank you. I know - being close to excellent gardeners that I have ignored a lot of rules so ground elder flourishes - but it suits us.
Have fun with a few tubs first maybe.

There will be pictures on my blog from Wednesday I hope.

I used a credit card to buy my new cycle seat and now I'm saddled with debt!

Thanks again!
