The Bowes Museum is tops: I once popped in on the way back to Scotland from a trip down south to find a spectacular exhibition of historical loos in the front lobby.

In answer to your query on my post: the kindle has wi-fi (and unlimited free 3G for the top end version, well worth it I'd say) and a web browser. So I use it to access my google reader in bed or, should I be lucky to get out for a while, in the garden. Much nicer than sitting at the computer, and lighter than a book. Are you sold? Just in case you're not: almost all of the classics: Dickens, Austen, Hardy, et al, are free for the Kindle because they're out of copyright. Also, I'm told writers get more of the sale price as production costs are so much lower than print books. Not to mention the tree saving.

Oh, nearly forgot: it's not lethargy you're experiencing, my dear, but sweet relief. You'll get on with things soon enough. Just revel for now! X

"...hie ye to the Bowes Museum..."

Just reading that has made me almost unreasonably happy.

Lovely words.

Eryl: I knew about the classics and the last two books I ordered I could have got cheaper on kindle. I must look into it more. I have a horror of spending money and then wasting it by not using whatever. Daft really.

John. G: you know the flower we couldn't name? Kevin think it's Camassia, He's usually right:)

Pearl: Will the Shake has a lot to answer for.

I am not much of a guy who thinks in so deeply about web design but I think your post had some valid points in it. Like designers are forced to design stuff within the limited code available and not go beyond it, their innovation is somewhat limited but still I think Web Design won't die! I agree that Amazon and other some big sites won't have a blog but now a days it's very important to have some sort of option available so people can quickly communicate their thoughts.

Espana: welcome! I'm glad you approve of blogs. I don't know much about Web Design but find very intricate ones slow everything down so prefer to keep it simple.

Ahhh, simply glorious.

If I show this to my dearest auntie A. who lives in Tampa, Florida, she will drool, she dabbles in painting flowers.

GG: I'd like to have a room built around that painting where I could sit and meditate - or just snooze:)

Hello Pat:
It must now be more than 100 years since we were at the Bowes Museum, and even longer ago that we were in that most magical of northern cities, Durham, whose cathedral is, surely, one of the world's finest.

Would now that we were able to see the Fantin-Latour exhibition to which you draw attention. We are certain it will be both interesting and delightful. As it is, we shall content ourselves with an exhibition of the work of Duncan Grant, currently being shown in the Brighton Art Gallery. Not at all the same but, we hope, equally worthwhile.

Pat said...

H:I agree with you about the cathedral. Two of our sons went to Durham University so we knew it well back in the day. You won't go short of culture in Brighton:)

So ugly. And so depressing. Thanks, but no thanks, PI. Personally, I praise The Lord that are happier delights to be had than this, and thus that life remains so diversely wonderful. I send you my dearest best wishes for whatever makes you happy, dear PI. x

Dandelion: there is a darkness there, maybe that's what appeals. There's no accounting for taste.
Thank you for your kind wishes:)
