Plant and shrub of the week

Fritillaries hide in the woodland and I have to search for them
.
The one above is the aptly named snake's head.

The acer - a gift from Mum . We chose it together from a specialist near Taunton and ensured we put it in the right place.

Tomorrow we vote - with hope in our heart - and then are off to Taunton - because it's there. I may be some time.

I think Snakes Had is absolutely GORGEOUS! So unusual and so colorful...! I am completely unfamiliar with this...!
Hope you enjoy your time in Taunton, my dear.

Kath: it's such a secretive plant - every year I think I've lost it and then suddenly it's there.

Judy and Naomi: it was just going to be a shopping trip but it's pouring with rain so we're 'taking a rain check.'

Ah yes, fritillaries, lovely - we found some in our local woodland, dug them up, planted them in our garden, and to our surprise they have thrived there.

Gadjo: I used to do that in Greece. I think if we did it here we'd be thrown into jail;)

I've got some snakes' heads in my garden - planted legitimately! Love them!
Democratic right has been exercised and now we await the outcome!

Rosneath; me too and I've been instructed by my # 1 son not to stay up for results;)

Lovely plants. I shall gaze forlornly at my garden this weekend and wish for such lovely things.

Randall: thank you but it was still only Thursday:)

Granny Annie: you make me feel I actually know what I'm talking about:)

Madame DeFarge: you're hither and yon at such speed I can't keep up with you:) Have you seen Jimmy?

I have a feeling that the snake's head is one that folks here would rather not have :-D

GG: I think I can understand that:)

Lovely plants. I think I'm down to my last two fritillaries in the garden (they've been out-competed by the geraniums). I shall have to replenish the stocks.

Kevin: yes it's a shame to lose such an attractive plant. I seem to have lost quite a few plants this last year. Mind you since I got help in the garden I haven't been talking to them as much.
