Parsnip. Clever girl. I think we all were.

So this is James. Was your winding up on his lap a happy accident or was there...ahem...forethought? I may well have attempted something like that at seventeen. And a half.

And good looking too.

SDC: this gave me pause for thought. I was drawn to the three of them
because they were couth but not Southern Smoothies, they were older and wiser, they were mountaineers - you felt safe with them, they had fought in the war and they were fun.
With James it was a little like a moth to a flame - so different to the school boys I was used to. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't have gone off the rails.

Mage: weren't we the lucky ones?

What wonderful photo of gorgeous carefree young things. The picture says a thousands words. Sorry I haven't visited in sooo long (four months) scrolling down to catch up. Hope you are well.

Husband, daughter and son-in-law went to the movies. I stayed in to watch the grandchildren and also to allow the two au pairs to go out. I think I got the best deal because I went back to read up on your stories and it was so interesting. You have such a great memory – remembering names, people and what you all said. It is fascinating and I really enjoyed reading all your posts.

Vagabonde: so glad you found time to read 'An Imperfect Life'. I know you have a very busy life. It is easier to remember the distant past rather than last week. Of course it is impossible to remember the speech verbatim but I strive to keep the essence truthful.

ALW: Thank you I am well and glad you have popped over.
They were happy days- the war over and changing from a daffy young girl into a daffy young woman. I can't believe that James - if he were still alive would be 95.

I kind of wish I was young again. Photos like this do not help my condition. But it's lovely.

Exile: comparatively speaking you still are:) Enjoy.
