Baltic Bound

I never thought I would go to Germany but our first port of call is Lubeck which - it seems - is in Germany.  Copenhagen, Latvia and St Petersburg - all new to me.  At least I know the ship quite well - the Braemar.
Back soon. K.T.F.

Enjoy! Went briefly to Latvia when Jacqui was in the GB gymnastics squad. landed at Riga but off to Lithuania - Klaipeda. Riga was closer than Lithuania's airport in Vilnius.

Loved it and the people - mind you...drunken border guards at the border into Lithuania carrying kalashnikovs were a bit worrying ;-)

Why wouldn't you go to Germany?! I hate to be so shallow and oblivious but is it because of the war? I'll bet St. Pete is beautiful. I'd love to go there.

OOh can't wait to see the blog posts on this trip. I loved Germany the times I went, very storybook architecture and berlin was very dramatic and stark.
Latvia will be interesting...

Mage: have you sailed on Braemar? I just about know my way around it now.

Parsnip : it's a great way to travel for we single elderly ladies.

Rashbre: Q.

Norman : must have been a super experience.

Naomi: thank you - back safe and sound this time:)

Maurcheen: and no worries:)

Exile: we were brain washed as wartime kids then seeing the evidence of Belsen as a teen ager it was reinforced until I met Gerhard and friends at a Christian Fellowship Home and realised one can't write off a nation that is led by monsters.

ALW: as you can imagine I'm still processing it - hopefully before I forget it.

Scarlet: apart from one large bruise on my hip(mistaking a shower curtain for a wall)I'm hale and hearty - especially in my head.
