Seven Reasons to be Cheerful.

1 .Just ten more sleeps before a break in Hawkchurch and a party on Saturday.

2. Andy Murray has won a Grand Slam at last.  Well done Andy!

3.  One more CT scan in the Spring and if OK we can breathe again.

4. A trip tomorrow to Porlock Weir to find a wedding outfit for Joy for her

    Granddaughter’s wedding.

5. Took a peek at MTL’s list for our handy man and it includes an extra shower in

old larder.  Result of 20 years negotiating.

6.  Saga magazine e-mailed to say my winning cheque is on its way from Penguin.

 7.  http://cheffiles.blogspot.co.uk/ aka Jimmy is back.

My dear lady, after visiting #7 on your list I was most perplexed when I realised that this oik is a mere green limpet on the oyster shell of the culinary world. Most disgraceful speech, vulgar, uneducated and above all else Scottish! Surely no decent English woman could embrace a member of the Celtic bloodline with such aplomb?

I implore you to return your standards to a far higher level at once.

I shall of course be with you in spirit in regard to #3. Do give him my regards and remind him that the hoops are still singing over the demise of the hun.

Scarlet: you do realise that nutella is the spawn of the devil? I was horrified to see the French grandchildren devouring it for breakfast.

Chef Files: well I have had a lot of practice in embracing a member of the Celtic bloodline do admit.

YTL and MTL have been on the same path it seems. We have had our fifth biopsy that has been benign and next week he has his CT scan that sends us home free.

Granny Annie: great news. Everything crossed.xox

Re: Andy. Was it a five hour match? Did I read that correctly? Bruce Springsteen just played for three and a half hours in Chicago. Both are cases of TOO DAMN MUCH of a good thing.

Jimmy does have a hold on us, doesn't he? It's been how long? Maybe as much as a year? And still...I didn't remove his old URL from my Reader until it went dead.

I feel like Keith today. [Ha, I hope he doesn't see this comment]. So this will help me to think of things to be cheerful about.

OMG, OMG! Congratulations about the Saga Mag., Pat. That's exciting!

Pat said...

UB: yes-just under 5 hours but not nearly so long as he has waited for a Grand slam.
Yes Jimmy is an uncommon man.

GG: I'm sure Keith would be delighted that you think of him:)
Re the Sag mag - the excitement has worn off somewhat but no doubt will be revived when the cheque arrives.

There's nothing wrong with nutella for breakfast. Or at any other times, I might add! I love that stuff!!

I'm also very happy to see that JB has returned. I also never took his old url down from my blog. Hoping, you know. :-)

Gypsy: a 'grateful journal' is a grate idea:)
As for the cheque I don't know what route it has taken but it's still not here. Awkward!

Ponita: the only thing wrong with nutella is it's too dam pleasureable.
I knew you'd be glad about JB. The trick is to recognise his footprints:)
