That's pretty patchwork. My mother made all of us 5 children patchwork quilt covers when we went from sheets and blankets to quilts, probably sometime in the early 70s. I have loved mine almost to bits. The fabrics and patterns in it are reminders of very happy days.
Enjoy your lunch :) I'll be thinking of you all while I'm eating my Swedish school lunch. It's usually not too bad, but we never get pudding, unless it's pancakes, in which case it's just pancakes, or if it's Christmas, in which case we get ham sandwiches followed by rice pudding.
How lovely Pat....The Quilt looks so very pretty....Nothing like 'sprucing' up, to give one a lift! It's funny about having to have certain things---I bought a Chenille Throw---maybe 12 years ago--I don't know why, but, like you---I Had To Have It! I hardly used it for years, and now, I use it ALL the time---day and night...It is so cozy for napping!
Nea: I made a completely hand sewn double one when I first went to live with MTL but I used mainly Laura Ashley scraps and it isn't nearly so pretty and is flat rather than the lovely scrunchy feel of this one.
Re lunch: I'm perplexed. I know we fixed this date and then I went to stay with my son. Since my return I have been within reach of the phone but heard nothing so assumed they had changed their plans. I phoned this week-end just to make sure but no answer as I expect they had already left. I do hope I haven't made some ghastly mistake but will stay near the phone today.
Naomi: it's strange how inanimate things can be such a comfort. Perhaps it takes us back to babyhood - snuggled in a shawl when our only problems were a touch of wind:)
If you like it then everything is right !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
cheers, parsnip
Parsnip: I intend to have fun changing the rest:)
ReplyDeleteI love it! xx
ReplyDeleteJohn: you have excellent taste:)
ReplyDeleteIf you had to have it, you had to have it. I get that way about a cap, and nothing is gonna stop me getting it, even if I'm too old to wear it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy changing the other bits.
Looks comfy! :¬)

Joey: I'm going dotty moving all the pictures round the house.

Lom: glad you like it:)
All that matters is wether you like it, wrong can be right!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a wonderful, comforting quilt in which to wrap yourself.
ReplyDeleteso pretty, enjoy your rearranging, so therapeutic!
ReplyDeleteMarjolein: it will be right when I've finished tweaking.
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie: I'll bet you have one.
Rosneath: therapeutic and expensive:)
I'm not sure why you say some things are wrong...they look so pretty and cosy, it's the kind of place that I'd call a cocoon.
ReplyDeleteGG; there was too much blue in the pictures. The lamp really goes in the guest room and I'll get a new on for a treat.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking boudoir:)
Looks ALL right to me.

Scarlet: almost - it will look better.
