I do indeed know her...! Amanda McBroom is so very very talented...! I LOVE this song. I also love a lot of her other songs, too.... The most famous, I guess, is "THE ROSE", which Bette Midler sang in the Movie of the same name. I LOVE that in this song she touches your heart in such a deep way. Thanks Pat....this was a real treat.
Naomi: I felt sure you would know her. I was listening to the radio today and someone had met her in an hotel where she heard her sing 'The Rose' and said how lovely it was and she seemed to know it so well. Whereupon Amanda said 'I should - I wrote it.'
Joey: I've just been on you tube to remind myself of the Rose and then got caught up in loads of stuff from Stevie Wonder to Les Mis. This recent computer has great speakers so listening is an experience - enjoyed more by me than MTL:)
how incredibly beautiful, pat - breathtaking - thanks so much for sharing here - an overcast damp day here and i'm still under the weather/covers [as well] - but - somewhat better last night and today - coming by your place was such a treat - as it always is - thanks again!
I once played the part of a tree in my one and only school play with my pal Niall, who later went on to appear several times in Taggart and Emmerdale.
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough no one ever approached me to play another tree.
It seems my bark isn't worse than my bite.

Sharon: happy tears I hope.
My daddy wasn't a movie star but in my mind and heart he was bigger than Errol Flynn or any other famous person.
ReplyDeleteGood song. I do know The Rose but i hadn't heard this one, but I was sure Naomi had!
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; I'll bet he was a nicer person too.
