Great. Just what I need. Photos of Spring when the weather people are telling me we've got at least 2-3 snow storms left before the Equinox.
    Thanks so much.

    :)

    Cheers.

  3. Pink flowers?! I can't wait!
We're having a warm Saturday. I think we're the lucky ones!

  4. The anticipation is the best part of any excursion. You know that!

  5. Green! It's... green! The only green here is the spruce and pines that dot yards along the street. My conical blue spruce towers a good 10 feet or more above the height of my two storey home.

But I long for green... and warm. Although I love the four seasons, I grow very weary of the white and cold. It is -20 right now.

  6. Iani: thank you and welcome.

Scarlet: cyclamen - I bought them
in a pot and they have been great.

UB: maddening of you to be right;)

Ponita: before this winter I yearned for snow - it was so long since we had had it here, but you're right a little goes a long way, and you have a lot!

  7. Oh what a neat and tidy garden! Puts mine to shame.

  8. Sandy: that's thanks to Karen our gardener - and the hedgecutters.

I WONDER WHERE DEM BOIDIES IS?

DEM BOIDS IS ON DER WINGS

  10. WOW ! Your garden looks so wonderful. It is all sweep-up and trimmed just perfect for the spring to come.

My yard is looking very bad. The three nights we have of really freezing weather had damaged so much. I have to wait till March for the tree surgeons to come and repair all the damage. Then the trimming and clean up begins.

    cheers, parsnip

  11. How can your garden look so lovely in Feb? Ours is full of soggy droopy tufty things.

  12. GG: I never knew you came from Brooklyn:)

Parsnip: I suppose its unusual trimness inspired me to take a photo.

Queenie: Karen was here for 2 hours on Thursday and she has two garden rubbish bins to fill so nothing is left unsheared.

  13. What's stopping me? The foot of snow we're expecting between Sunday and Monday!

But ohhhhh. Once I get the chance...

  14. Just heard the coach is stuck in snow, but the Orchestra hope to be with you in three weeks.

  15. Pearl: good girl! That's the spirit!

LOM: bummer! And one of the boys has the piano.

  16. Ok, I've struggled out of bed, I'm sitting in my dressing gown, I'm warm and cosy. And now I feel guilty and lazy - I know I have to go and do something with the messy jungle outside that was once my garden, I'd just thought I might leave til spring...

  17. We went for a drive last night and could not believe that the two feet of snow we had has all melted and we could actually see green patches of new grass in the fields. I envy your yard but have hope that mine will be in beautiful color soon.

  18. Sharon: snap! Mine's thick, heavy and red and I think ready for the washing machine before the French arrive.
It is meant to be a day of rest, so I should postpone your date with the jungle - or there's always Philip.

  19. Granny Annie: I'm sure it will be. Our 'yards' are areas with stone flags. Do you use the word 'garden' - and please excuse my ignorance.
Our language is so similar with imperceptible differences.

  20. We call the area in front of our house "the yard". Because we live in the country (rural area) we call the back "the field" and then a special area is set apart as our "garden". The house in town just has a front and back yard and a small bricked area we call the "flower bed" but no garden.

  21. Granny Annie: golly1 It's even more complicated than I thought:)

  22. Verse and Worse, Pat, Verse and Worse. It's a book I have with some of the 'baddest' verses :-D

Yes, how come your garden looks so good in February? Did you vacuum it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. GG: I love it!
Vacuuming is difficult at present - all down to Karen. A rare immaculate moment before Spring has sprung.

  24. Looking good Mum2. We have a p/t gardener now, it's too much for Dad!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jon. G: I think that's wise - he can still potter a bit and enjoy the fruits of someone else's labour. I'm so relieved now to have help both in the house and garden.

  26. WOW! Spring is upon you, my dear....The Lawn looks Fabulous! Will there be no more snow?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Naomi: please God there will be mo more snow. I long for the days when MTL can sit out in the garden. It is getting warmer and our French family arrive tomorrow - all five of them:)
