A thank you.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions but I’m the one who needs fixing today.

Probably a mild reaction from my trip on Tuesday

In the end I did as I always but did a smaller amount.  It’s worked for me.

Have a good weekendJ

  4. A day in watching bad telly, reading rubbish magazines, and eating cake, can be soothing.
Hope you are feeling much better soon, Pat.

  6. Oh I feel I missed something, I hope you feel better soon, and your weekend goes okay. Life has a habit of ebbing and flowing doesn't it? Not very good English but you know what I mean.

Look after yourself. Do some things you love.

  7. Scarlet and Maurcheen: great advice:) Have just watched Hitchcock's 'The Lady Vanishes' and had the pleasure of seeing an old acting mate Charles Oliver, who played General Burgoyne in my production of 'The Devil's Disciple'.
    Thank you for that.

Joey: I tripped up a kerb last week - just some grazes and bruises
but it caught up with me a few days later.
Happily a lovely young van driver stopped and lifted me on my feet again. Moral: don't try to do 6 different things in a short space of time.

glad you treated yourself to a day of peace and quiet ... I can't recall the last time I had one of those!

hope the grazes and bruises have now faded but not the memory of the lovely young man .... !

  9. roseneath: well peace and quiet and a bit of curtain hanging. I've just had MRL's study redecorated and am slowly putting it together again minus dozens of cardboard boxes. That's me done for the day:)

  16. I find a ten minute stay in a hot, hot bath or tub helps after a fall. Hugs to ya.

  17. Naomi: I didn't write about it in the blog until I felt better.
Physically I was fine - just a bit weepy in reaction. I was very cheered that I didn't break anything and have taken the plunge and booked a holiday for next May.
    Something to look forward to:)

  18. Och hen, sorry to hear you are feeling a wee bit peely-wally. I hope you're better soon. Try some iced tea and add fresh lemon. It's a natural pick-me-up.

  19. Chef: It is just a bit chilly here for your nice pick-me-up but thank you for your warm thoughts.
    I'm fine again:)

  20. Trusting you are making a good recovery.

I've not done that, but have walked into a slow moving automatic glass door in the past. A) it hurt and B) it was quite embarrassing. Luckily it was my forehead more than my nose that took the hit.

  21. Rashbre: ouch that must have hurt.
All glass doors/windows should be clearly marked.
I wonder if you took avoiding action to avoid your nose being hurt. I did - in mid-air - so landed on my side instead of full frontal.

  22. Sounds like you've had a lot of running around. (Even watching Morris Dancing is exhausting!) After a day like that I usually have a lying low day too. Hope you're okay.

  23. ALW: apart from a worrying new tendency to eat cake I'm good as new:)

  25. GG: thank you. Well and sensible today - so after walking down a river in torrential rain to the town and back again I eschewed lunch at the Queen's Head and luckily was here when the carpet men came early. I have had MTL's study redecorated and had a sad moment when it looked immaculate.
However now with all his old photos and books and books replaced it's his again.

  26. I'd recommend prodigious amounts of tea, Jaffa cakes and a bunch of out-of-print detective stories.

    Take care now.

  27. Kevin: is tea and Battenburg OK?
Trouble is it makes me dream of sugar. And I've just bought Morrissey's memoirs.
