Home Sweet Home.

Thanks to so many people, we are back where we belong. If I can just remember what day it is – it is a week since the op and we were dismissed yesterday. Now the hard work begins and I fear my blogging will suffer for a while. But I know what a comfort and support it is to me so I shall keep going somehow.

Where I stayed – Stapleton Lodge - was a real haven. I took some photos of it and will show you soon. At the moment I’m trying to replicate 20 first class nurses – all less than half my age and continue the excellent care he’s been having. I find nursing adults more difficult than children – much less biddable. Hey ho!

  8. Very glad to hear you're 'back where you belong'. I can tell from your blog that you're not a woman who's easily daunted, so I'm sure you're more than capable of doing as well, if not better than twenty or more nurses.
Just don't forget to look after yourself as well.

  10. So glad you're both home.
In total agreement about adults and children, but I'm sure you can clone yourself 10 times (they might have been half your age, but you have double their experience :)

    Take care of yourself too

  17. All: I could weep with frustration!
I have just written individual replies and bloody blogger has lost them. WHY?
I allowed myself time to answer and now I must get back to chores. I treasure every kind word and send hugs to you all. I will now take deep calming breaths.

  18. If nothing else at least Blogger is keeping you on your IT toes;) not that you need it at the moment. You have set a high standard regarding replies to comments, one that I try to emulate, not that I have ever managed to come anywhere close. Until you're back on an even keel, I'll cut you some slack and be more than happy with a general reply to all and sundry, just letting us know all's well.
Keep taking the calming breaths, I find big mugs of tea topped up regularly help too :)
I'm back off to the chores now too... a curtain rail just fell on my head!

  19. Nea: thanks for a moment of levity.
What I said before is how I am enjoying 'The brightest star' - when I can keep my eyes open. I love her SOH which I'm sure you appreciate.
When the curtain rail falls do you expostulate in English or Swedish?

  22. So glad to read that "mending" is going on. I hope you don't exhaust yourself, dear Pat, Nursing can certainly be difficult at any age, but now....Well, DO give yourself some breaks, too and maybe along with those deep breaths a tiny bit of Sherry...Sending Healing Thoughts To Your Dear Loved One, and to you too, my dear Pat....

  23. Naomi: for sherry read Kir(white wine with a dash of cassis). Progress is slow but we have to be patient and be thankful for where we are. The good thing is we are both sleeping well. Thank you for all your good thoughts.

  24. Welcome home....and sorry that progress is slow. Glad there is progress, and I know you will prevail. Hugs and thoughts your way.

  30. Pat, what a relief. Everything seems to be fine. What Nea says is true though, do remember to take care of you. Otherwise you both will be feeling down.

You have me completely convinced about positive vibes and blogging now.
